Nominator's project description

Professor Marks is internationally renowned for his outstanding contributions to the study of multilevel governance, which spearheaded a paradigm shift in the study of the European Union. He pioneered research on structures and processes of shared or divided political authority and sovereignty within and beyond the nation state. During his stay in Germany, he will explore the causes and consequences of multilevel governance at the national and international level.
